About the artist
Jennifer Gillen is a contemporary artist living in S.C. She was born in N.C. where she was raised until moving to SC in 2021. She specializes in vibrant, colorful, landscapes. Heavily inspired by the expressionist art movement.
She began drawing as a child. Filling sketchbooks with faces, and imaginary things. Eventually moving to painting and experimenting with different mediums. She continued to create art in her free time until high school when she took her first painting class. She eventually chose art as a major in college and graduated with a bachelors of art from Gardner-Webb University. After years and a masters in counseling, she was pulled back to her passion of art. She has a passion to create, coupled with the fascination of human perspective and how that effects art.
She draws her inspiration from her love of nature and the whimsical imaginary. With a deep connection to the expressionist art movement Jennifer expresses emotions through brushstrokes, feelings through color, and imagination through landscapes.
